Synopsis:

The late A. A. C. Hedges was, prior to his retirement, the Borough Librarian and Curator of the County Borough of Great Yarmouth, serving for nearly thirty years in the post. His original version of Yarmouth is an Ancient Town was distributed to the senior schoolchildren of the Borough in 1959 to celebrate the town's 750th Anniversary of the granting of its first charter.

This revised edition was worked on jointly by Frank Meeres and Michael Boon (academic and former Chief Executive of the Great Yarmouth Port Authority). It has brought the story of Yarmouth and its port into the new millennium.
